Introduction by the Secretary-General

Why the National Assembly Party (NAAS)? And why this party platform? Because we regard it as an honour to champion the oppressed, to speak the truth, to strive for justice and to labour to achieve it; and because the greatest and most lasting impact comes from working organisationally and institutionally; and because we owe it to our country and its population to defend them, seek to represent their voice, and strive to convey their concerns. It is for these reasons that NAAS came into being and set up this platform, not to give ourselves breathing space, but to make it possible for the sons and daughters of our nation, yearning as they are for liberation, progress and positive action, to breathe and express themselves.
